LORRTEC design office
The expertise of our design office enables us to design and develop all mechanical components linked to the engine, with the aim of enhancing performance and/or reliability. We work on prototypes or small series for our own specific internal needs or for external orders (manufacturers, private teams, etc.). We are constantly designing and developing new parts such as pistons, connecting rods, camshafts, valves, crankshafts, etc., as well as castings (cylinder heads, manifolds, blocks, etc.) for all types of internal combustion engines, both modern and historic.
Assembly of LORRTEC engines
A competition engine must be fitted according to the rules ! In our clinically clean workshop, each part is checked before assembly in order to obtain a perfect result. A production engine benefits from the same care as a Formula 1 engine !
Series and collection engines: we rebuild series engines from Bmw M3, Jaguar Type E, Mercedes 190 SL, Porsche 356 & 911, Ferrari Dino … and any other old engine.
Historic competition engines: we overhaul and make reliable the engines of a large number of competition vehicles: V10 F1 Peugeot, V8 F1 Cosworth HB, Lancia 037, Fiat 131 Abarth, Peugeot 205 T16, Jaguar Type E, Ferrari V12, Ferrari Dino, Lancia Stratos, Lancia Delta, Audi Quattro, Ford RS200, Sierra Cosworth & RS500, Porsche 911 all models, Bmw M3 GrA, BMW M12/7, V6 PRV, Ford Cosworth BDA/BDG/BDT etc…

Electronics and harnesses, MOTEC and DTA boxes
We install MOTEC and DTA computers on all types of vehicles (Rally, Circuit, Raid, Motorcycle, etc.), and we produce tailor-made wiring harnesses for different applications:
- Engine harness (Raychem DR25)
- vehicle harness
- Adaptation of Powerbox modules and modern multiplexed systems (CAN bus)
We also have the possibility of testing the various electronic components (sensors, injectors, coils, computers, etc.).

Metrology workshop and organ bench LORRTEC
We have modern equipment to control the various components of an engine:
- Cylinder head blower to validate the permeability of the ducts as well as the swirl/tumble of the engine.
- Bench of injectors to validate and balance the flow rates.
- Camshaft bench to check and study timing diagrams with precision.
- Digital spring tester to calibrate the return forces at the valves.
- Test bench for mechanical injection pump type Bosch, Lucas, Kugelfischer… to develop these old systems.
- Three-dimensional measuring machine to control any mechanical part.

Vehicle and engine test benches LORRTEC
We are equipped with a 4WD ROTOTEST 1000hp vehicle test bench, comparable to a set of engine benches coupled to each driving wheel of the vehicle. This measuring instrument is extremely precise thanks to the high-resolution torque sensors measuring the force directly at the wheel hubs. Dynamic and stabilized measurements can thus be performed during engine tuning.
We also have a SCHENCK engine test bench from Formula 1 allowing us to fine-tune all types of engines with power up to 1000 hp and speeds up to 18000 rpm .

LORRTEC provides you in France and abroad with qualified engineers and technicians to assist you on the racetrack or in rallies when the vehicle’s operation requires a high degree of technical expertise ( Group C Sport prototypes , historic Formula 1, Rally-raid … ).
Different types of service are possible: different settings between practice and the race, optimization of power and consumption according to the terrain, real-time modifications to facilitate the operation of the car and the driver’s adaptation, data analysis to enable the driver to improve his performance…

Company history LORRTEC
- 2011 Creation of the company LORRTEC with a 4wd Rototest vehicle bench. The beginnings of the company were essentially devoted to the preparation of engines for modern motorsport : rallying, circuit and hill-climbing. LORRTEC has also been present in Rally-raid (Dakar) since its beginnings in the SSV category with the engines of Polaris RZR buggies.
- 2012 Launch of the engine preparation activity for historic vehicles (VHC) in rallies as well as for the mythical Group C sport-prototypes on the circuit with in particular the Porsche 962 , one of the company’s specialties.
- 2013 Christophe Vaison wins the Yves LOUBET Historic Morocco Rally with a Peugeot 504 prototype equipped with a V6 PRV LORRTEC engine. These are also the beginnings of the preparation of engines for historic vehicles and VHCs on the circuit for events such as the Tour Auto or Le Mans Classic .
- 2014 Development of the machine shop and engine rectification . Victory in the Group C Racing championship (Christophe d’Ansembourg, Porsche 962 MECAUTO with MOTEC LORRTEC electronic management). Gilles Panizzi competes in the historic Morocco rally with a 504 proto V6 PRV equipped with a LORRTEC engine .
- 2014 – 2015 Christophe Vaison’s Lancia 037 fitted with a LORRTEC engine successively wins the historic 2014 and 2015 Tours de Corse .
- 2016 Preparation of V8 engines for 2WD rally-raid buggies specifically for Dakar regulations. On the other hand, SĂ©bastien Loeb drives a 205 T16 EVO 2 equipped with a 600 hp LORRTEC engine during the Vosges rally.
- 2017 LORRTEC is equipped with an engine test bench cell to test off-vehicle engines.
- 2018: Launch of the Lorrtec Racing Parts online store. Victory for Serge Cazaux on Ford Sierra GrA at the historic Tour de Corse with a Cosworth YB LORRTEC. Four LORRTEC engines in the top 10 scratch of this mythical rally (Sierra Cosworth GrA, Escort Ford BDG Group 4, BMW M3 GrAâŠ). Raymond Narac & Michel Lecourt ( Porsche 962 with MOTEC LORRTEC electronic management) win the 2018 Group C Racing Championship (Peter Auto). Francois Delecour and Harri Toivonen won various rallies in Europe at the wheel of Ford Sierra Cosworth with LORRTEC engine. Serge Cazaux also won the title of Spanish historic rally champion on Sierra GrA.
- 2019 : Start of the “aeronautical” activity with Rotax and Lycoming engines.

The pilot :
Pierre-Antoine made his competitive debut in motocross and then in karting before moving on to motorsport.
He won several Scratch victories in the French rally cup, French rally championship VHC and Free Racing, sport proto category (Norma M20, BMW 318 Compact F2000, Escort MK2 Cosworth BDG, Skoda R5…).
